Soap Wedding Drama! Bride’s Late Entrance, Surprise Guest & Vintage Cars Steal the Show. Jack changed his mind and invited Chris Hughes – his Celebrity Big Brother housemate – despite previously denying it

Coronation Street favourite Jack P Shepherd has finally said “I do” to longtime partner Hanni Treweek in a stunning wedding ceremony at Manchester Cathedral – and the drama leading up to it was worthy of a soap opera itself.

The 37-year-old actor, known for his role as David Platt and recent winner of  Celebrity Big Brother, arrived in style in a vintage red Mustang alongside his son Reuben. Wearing a sharp cream jacket with a black bow tie, Jack looked every bit the leading man on his big day.

Guests were treated to a romantic vintage aesthetic, arriving in a red double-decker wedding bus. The venue buzzed with excitement as Corrie stars poured in – Lucy Fallon, Tina O’Brien, and Julia Goulding among them – dressed to impress in colourful summer gowns.

But all eyes were on Hanni, 36, who made a fashionably late entrance in a lace off-shoulder white gown with a dramatic train and tiara to match. Applause broke out as she stepped from her classic white Rolls Royce, bouquet in hand, makeup touched up just moments before walking down the aisle.

In a surprise twist, Jack welcomed Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes to the guest list — a U-turn from his earlier declaration on Good Morning Britain that he wouldn’t be inviting his reality show housemates. Chris arrived solo, without girlfriend JoJo Siwa, who remained in the U.S.

Also turning heads was actor Alan Halsall, who made his public debut with new girlfriend Ellie Dolan, both looking coordinated in yellow ensembles.

As the cathedral bells rang and guests took their seats, Jack’s on-screen mum Helen Worth, now 74, was seen beaming with joy — a heartwarming nod to the soap family’s real-life bond.

Today, Manchester became the backdrop for a true fairytale – proving even soap stars get their happily ever after.

Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd is officially a married man, having exchanged vows with longtime partner Hanni Treweek in a stunning ceremony at Manchester Cathedral this Saturday. The couple, who got engaged during a romantic safari in Tanzania last year, were surrounded by family, friends, and a host of their Corrie co-stars.

The 37-year-old actor, best known for playing David Platt since 2000, looked dapper in a white suit as he arrived in a red Mustang, accompanied by his mother and son Reuben. Hanni, 35, turned heads in an elegant lace gown with a long trail, arriving in a classic white car alongside her family.

After saying “I do,” the couple were showered with white confetti and shared a passionate kiss on the cathedral steps, greeted by cheers from their soap star pals including Lucy Fallon, Tina O’Brien, Julia Goulding, Ben Price, and Colson Smith.

The event was a star-studded affair with no expense spared. A source close to the couple revealed, “They’ve gone all out to make sure it’s their dream day.” Indeed, Jack had even admitted that he joined Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year to help fund the lavish wedding.

Hanni’s preparations included a heartfelt non-traditional hen party at The Ivy, where she celebrated with close friends sipping cocktails and donning Jack masks. Just days before the ceremony, she shared snaps of their first dance rehearsal, captioning it: “Hungover but dancing through as Mrs Shepherd to be.”

Summer vacation destinations

The couple’s love story started behind the scenes at Coronation Street, where Hanni worked as a storyline writer. Their romance blossomed after reconnecting at a mutual friend’s wedding.

As the newlyweds posed outside the cathedral, champagne in hand and smiles wide, Jack adjusted Hanni’s train and waved to crowds of well-wishers. Their love was clear as they giggled, posed with son Reuben, and departed in the red Mustang that added just the right touch of drama to the fairytale day.
